Goshiki Onsen And Hotel
Located at the base of both Annupuri and Iwaonupuri mountains, this onsen gets a lot of attention from backcountry riders due to its convenient location and the ability to ski right up to it after a day of skinning up and riding powder. Rumour has it that the tunnel leading to the area was built so that visitors could make it to the onsen in winter, but not sure how believable that is!
The reputation of this onsen is quite high, most likely because of the above factors, however it unfortunately didn’t live up to that reputation and so we consider it to be convenient but somewhat overhyped. With only 3 pools in total, the facility is small but well maintained, but doesn’t offer a lot of facilities. The outside pool is also not orientated to give a view of the mountain you’ve just come off, which is a shame.
