Healthy Chateau (ヘルシーシャトー 4)
Healthy Chateau (ヘルシーシャトー 4) is another high quality community onsen. Almost earning a 4 star review, the lack of an open-air pool was the deal breaker. Located on the outskirts of Asahikawa it offers a great indoor pool selection and a clean, well kept environment with all the amenities and features to make for a truly relaxing experience.
In typical Japanese onsen tradition, you are greeted with a small souvenir/gift shop as you enter, stocked with locally made and sourced products as well as a restaurant off to the side to fill your belly after a nice relaxing soak. The men's side has 4 hot pools all with varying temperatures, the hottest being around 44 degrees and the coolest around 39. The cold plunge here felt cold, as it should be, and offered a refreshing soak. A definitive locals vibe here, letting us know that we hit the jackpot yet again on another quality hidden onsen.
