Yugokorotei

Yugokorotei has a very large open-air outdoor bath with a constant supply of fresh hot spring water. It’s a very popular stop for tourists due to its location next to Moiwa and Annupuri ski resorts. It can be loud at times with tourists who enjoy a drink and exchanging stories with their friends. Yugokorotei is not recommended if you’re looking for a quiet and authentic experience. Inside there is only a small indoor bath next to the bathing area, so don’t expect to find additional baths and amenities.

This onsen did not meet our standards for cleanliness and we wished that onsen etiquette was followed by the other guests. We arrived after a long day of snowboarding, and the rotenburo was very crowded with other backcountry enthusiasts. After a quick look around we didn’t see any locals, but we quickly started talking about our adventures with other guests. Yugokorotei has a lot of potential, however the lack of rules takes away from its authentic experience. If your main priority is to soak in a very big rotenburo then you should check out Yugokorotei.
